Born and raised in Dominica, West Indies, Marica Honychurch moved to the U.S. in her late teens where she was first introduced to the world of photography. She gained a B.F.A at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and was able to experience film and darkroom processesbefore transitioning over to digital in commercial photography.

 

Marica worked for several years in New York City primarily in the fashion world of photography and led the digital archive for Fragile Productions, as well as freelanced with revered fashion photographers. She returned to Dominica as a freelance photographer concentrating on travel, documentary, and fine art. Her work has been showcased in print, exhibitions, galleries and online.

Marica's most recent works were featured in the Biennial of the Americas; Fabrica De Arte in Denver, CO, USA, and the book: ‘Still Standing: The Ti Kais of Dominica’.
